Never use an on/off switch for an ENERVEX Fan. ENERVEX recommends using the FSC Fan Speed Control.

An ENERVEX chimney fan must run while a fireplace is burning primarily to provide the required updraft and ensure proper cooling for the fan itself.

The ENERVEX fan relies on the air moving through it to keep its motor cool; if the fan is stationary while a fire is lit, the intense heat rising up the flue can damage the motor.

The ENERVEX Fan Speed Control (FSC) works with all ENERVEX single-phase chimney fans. ENERVEX specifically engineered the FSC to provide variable speed control for split capacitor motors. The control adjusts fan speed by reducing the line voltage supplied to the motor, allowing the system to use only the energy needed to maintain the desired airflow.

ENERVEX recommends using the FSC Fan Speed Control instead of a simple on/off switch. ENERVEX motors allow users to adjust fan speed and fine-tune the perfect draft.
A must for Pizza Ovens where the fan can run at a very low setting during prep time or overnight usage for ovens running 24/7.
FSC Control

Never use an on/off switch for an ENERVEX Fan. The ENERVEX Fan Speed Control FSC should be used.

Operating ( starting ) an ENERVEX Fan with an FSC Fan Speed Control.

An ENERVEX Fan should always be started on “high”.

At OFF… To START, the FSC should be set at “10”… the highest setting, and allowed to ramp up to its maximum speed.

Many capacitor-start motors require full voltage to develop starting torque.

After a few moments, once the fan motor has reached its full operating speed… you can then lower and adjust to the desired speed.
